Memory card not reading

I noticed today that my memory card pictures were no longer in my cell phone gallery, they simple disappeared. So I took it out, put it in an adapter, and placed it in my laptop to save the pics to the computer. The computer is not recognizing it either. How can I fix this?

I've been doing some research, and I'm not sure if this is going to work since they're not showing up on the computer either, but I'd recommend you try to insert the card in the phone again. Then, go to "Settings", choose "Apps", slide to the right to "ALL", and find "Gallery". Then, hit "clear data".
