I am looking to buy the Nokia Pureview 808, but I don't know too much about the smart phone process. Would I have to upgrade my plan for data? Or could I just slip my existing sim card into it? (would i have to cut it myself) would I get service? ...etc. thank you.
I have At&t
I don't have a smartphone currently
a full simcard (not cut)
I live in the USA if it's relevant.

From what I've been reading, a data plan is required if you use a smartphone on AT&T.

As long as the phone is unlocked you should be able to use your sim in it. You would have to cut it or ask AT&T for a microSIM though. You wouldn't get data until you activate a data plan on your account, but you should get text and voice.

well, would that cause a sneaky bill? or a fee of any sort? It is a smartphone but i do not have a data plan. could i just use it like a normal phone? and is cutting your simcard yourself worth it? what are the risks?
