If you know how to convert a wav to mmf, record the voice message in wav format and convert it to mmf. Yamaha has a program to do the conversion. Check this link:
http://smaf-yamaha.com/tools/downloads.html#wscma2s
and download Wave to SMAF Converter (WSC-MA2-SMAF)

Thanks for the reply. Do I assume that I have to somehow download my message to my PC and reload with this app? If so, how do I do that? I have no cable. I do have bluetooth and infrared on my laptop but have been unsuccesful exchanging data between the two. Can't seem to get a connection. Would appreciate any additional help on this subject.

Seems like you recorded the voice message using your phone and you want to use it as a ringtone. Am I right? Which phone are you using?

I think you have to find ways to download the voice message to your PC and then convert it and upload it back to the phone. Bluetooth seems to be the best to use as far as I know from others who are using D500. Try search the forum or other forum for more information on bluetooth with D500. Another thing you need to confirm is whether the voice message as recorded in D500 is in wav format or not. If not, you may have to use your PC to record the message again.

I was wondering about this. I don't have the same problem, but is there a chance that you can forward the voice message to an e-mail address?

The ringtone format for 8100 is midi, so you need a wav to mid converter. After doing a search on the internet, I found this free converter which you can try:

By the way, this forum is for Samsung phone, you may found more and better help in Sanyo forum:
