I'll be getting my Nokia N80 from Orange in the next day or so - anyone know
if it can easily be unlocked?
If I call Orange, would they unlock it? What's it likely to cost?
Thanks

Orange will unlock it for £20.
Will have to wait a week or so for them to give you the unlock code.

They don't seem to have one.
I have an N91 and received my unlock code today (but see below).
I requested it just over a week ago.
I have had the phone 3-weeks or so.
Actually I also got a bit lucky here as I had some problems with my
account so got into an email discussion with an Email Customer Service
Adviser from their Email Contact Centre (Stoke).
The reason I was contacting them is I was receiving loads of
multimedia spam messages, from Vodafone. I had called them 4 times to
stop them and sent STOP ALL requests by replying to the messages.
still they kept coming.
Vodafone could not understand why it was happening so have given me a
new number for free (said a number change is normally £30).
They have also given me a £14 text bundle for free (for the life of
the contract).
> "a £14 pack free for you for the problems you've had."
I mentioned in the email that I had not received the unlock code yet
and the was told he could see no record of it on my account (but said
it may just not be visible to him in the system he was in).
An hour later he sent me the code by email and supplied it free:

I have deleted my unlock code from the above.
I am not sure what happened (with receiving all the spam messages) but
they admitted there was a problem and resolved it beyond my
expectations.
I have gone from being extremely pissed at Vodafone to extremely
happy. Brilliant customer relations.

To get your unlock code on orange call them up as soon as you get it.
You will need to give them your phone model and IMEI code (phones
serial number). To get the code enter *#06# on your keypad (it is also
available under the battery and on the side of the box). They will of
course also ask for your orange account password.
They also asked for my sim card number (don't know why) so it may be a
good idea to have this to hand. They will either snail mail the code
to you or email it if you prefer.
When you get the code enter it exactly as it appears using the keypad
(with your phone switched on and the sim card in it). They will also
provide easy to follow instructions.
Should take a week or so for the code to arrive and they will bill you
for £20.
Saying that I requested my code for a 6680 over a week ago and am
still waiting. I called them yesterday to ask if they knew when I
would get it. They did not but confirmed the request shows on my
account and has been requested (from Nokia?).
