I'm exploring the option to switch to Cingular from Verizon to get T637
phone. How is the coverage in particular to east bay. On highway 680, 880,
237 etc. I attend meetings on my cell while commuting from Pleasanton to
Milpitas/San Jose. Any holes ordrops in these highways? Please share your
    experience.

    Thanks,

    AJ

The T637 won't work on Verizon -- wrong technology.

V600 on Cingular in East Bay/San Jose? No probelmos

The whole area from SJ to Dublin on 680 is saturated with cell-towers.

Slow down, John. You completely misread the original post.

    John,

Bob got it what I was asking. I'm looking at is Switching from Verizon to
Cingular and want to know the coverage in east bay area. When and if I
switch to Cingular I'll get T637. I do know that T637 is a GSM phone and not
    a CDMA.

    Thanks for your reply though.

I recommend trying them for the 15-day period and use them as you plan to
use the phone long-term. If you find holes - you might want to reconsider.

I travel all about Norcal for my work.

I've used Cingular on my V600 all the way through the Caldicott Tunnel
on hwy24, both East and West on the bay bridge under the Yerba Buena
    tunnel.

No loss of coverage in any location, even way out on the bay on hwy92
MacAurther bridge from Hayward to Sam Mateo.

On Verizon, I always had poor reception/dropped calls/no service with
my old V60i in these location.

    My .02 cents

Ron, I thought of that, however, I want to keep my number and it will be
difficult to try for 15 days. Or if there is a way to try this I need to
find it. Thanks for your reply.

Thanks Leonard. Your experience with coverage seems to be pretty good. I
    think I'll switch.
