No. Cingular had no 800/850 spectrum in California. That will change with
the acquisition of ATTWS, but is not yet available to Cingular subscribers.

Cingular's coverage in practically ALL of Southern California, including
San Diego, is fantastic, as long as you stay within the populated areas.

I experienced that also; it is much better now.

Re: Coverage in San Diego, CA and CA in general?

I use Cingular in Southern California, especially in San Diego.

I travel the I5 better downtown and Oceanside where I visit my dad. At my
dad's home in Oceanside, if my phone is in my pocket or somewhere where
reception is not best, it will switch to Cingular Extend with 5 bars -- I
assume that's the AT&T wireless network which we will soon be able to use.

In La Jolla, Cingular is great. My sister-in-law has Sprint in La Jolla and
she has no coverage in her house, but I do with Cingular.

Highway 78, 75, I15, Sorrento Valley/Mesa, La Mesa, Lakeside, Mission Valley
have great coverage also. I use my phone at the gym, in department stores
and membership warehouses throughout San Diego without any problems.

    So far, no complaints.

I believe that 850MHz on Cingular will be coming soon with the integration
    wth the AT&T network.
