How good is Cingular Blackberry coverage nationwide? Is it better than
Verizon's? The 7290 looks like a great device. Any experienced users care to
advise on it, and perhaps compare its sound quality and reception to the new
    7100? Thanks in advance.

    Re: Cingular Blackberry/7290 v. 7100

I have not used the 7290 but am now using the 7100 and love it. The size is
great, sound quality is great, works well with Bluetooth, and the Blackberry
Push style email is great. I travel about one half of the month and am
always either in my car or a rental car and miss one feature on this phone.
I can't believe that they did not include Voice Dial. That one feature
alone was a deal breaker as it is so much easier dialing just by saying
"call John Jones on his cell phone." I found out that Cingular has a
feature available for $5.00 per month called Voice Connect which imports my
entire Outlook address book and all you do is press *8 and it says, "who do
you want to call." Works great. I even programmed my Speed Dial number 2
    position to dial *8.

I got the phone about 6 weeks ago and have made three business trips (all to
major cities) and have found the coverage to be quite good. Maybe not as
good as Verizon (my previous carrier) but the coverage was totally
    acceptable.

If you can't guess, I am totally happy with my choice.

    Re: Cingular Blackberry/7290 v. 7100

I had a 7280 on AT&T, and recently upgraded to the 7100g (switched over
to Cingular). It is by far the best Blackberry I have used to date.
The bluetooth feature is worth upgrading for, and have had no problems,
except for a couple of random disconnects (not sure if that was the
phone or headset). My opinion is that Cingular has an advantage over
Verizon where I live (northern CT). My wife had verizon for several
years, and got frustrated. It seemed to me that things got worse after
they put in 1xRTT, or at least after we upgraded to 1xRTT phones. Once
we switched to cingular, she has not complained.

I'd recommend blackberry service with cingular. At least in New
England areas, you won't be disappointed.
