    Re: Sim Card Reader

I copy them all the time.

You will need a data cable for the nextel phone and the software to
    download them.

    http://idenphones.motorola.com/iden/...anizer_upd.jsp

Then you will need to export them to a CSV file and copy them via a sim
card reader back to the cingular sim

Or if you are in a coporate store and they have the CELEBRITE unit they
can just copy from the phone to phone.

Even more accurately, 23% do while 77% do not.

And the most accurate, John can't admit he was wrong.

Even some CDMA phones have a SIM card.

    First paragraph:

through Cellhire. Plus, Nextel customers that place their NEXTEL
IDENTITY CARD (SIM ID card) in the rented phone will be able to keep

Not true. Note the last paragraph of my prior post:

    SIM (Subscriber Identity Module)
    <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subscriber_identity_module> is a term
that's specific to GSM, not iDEN or CDMA.

Nextel does use a UICC smartcard <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UICC>
in some phones, but it's more appropriately called something like
    Nextel Identity Card
    <http://www.nextel.com/en/services/worldwide/rental.shtml>.
    Other Nextel phones use IMEI.

Similarly, the UICC smartcard for GSM and CDMA is called R-UIM
    (Removable User Identity Module).

The percentages are changing though, as more newer handsets come
on-line, since all the new ones do use SIMs.

Even some CDMA phones use SIMs. When I was in Korea in 2002, you could
rent a CDMA phone and insert your SIM card from your GSM phone to roam
    in Korea. See "http://www.sktelecom.com/eng/cyberpr/press/1183720_3735.html"

Thanks John- according to you, they use a SIM ID card (after all, that's
what it says above). Thanks for contradicting yourself again.

BTW- a Nextel identity card is not the same as a Nextel Identity Card. The
first alludes to a general term, the second to a product name. The website
uses the first and then calls it a SIM.

And I'm still waiting for you to identify a Nextel phone introduced in the
last three years that doesn't use one.

Actually a great try. Your silence is quite amusing and ALWAYS means a lack
of true knowledge on your part. You got caught in another lie and exposed
your limited knowledge once again. Anybody going to the Sprint site sees
this- every phone on the site used on the Nextel network has a SIM, and has
for a few years now. Only someone out of touch with modern technology would
claim otherwise. You have to resort to a very poor attempt at semantics to
try and wiggle your way out. But thank you for saying that Nextel uses the
same card technology as GSM- you proved my point and made yourself look like
    someone who got caught lying.

Nextel does use GSM compatible SIMs so when traveling overseas you can
put them in a GSM phone for roaming. Now run along John as I am really
    getting tired of you.
