I have the Nation 450 individual plan. It costs $39.95 a month. I
wanted to add a line for my wife to my plan, and I thought I could do
it for another $9.95. It looks like I would have to go to the Nation
550 Family Talk plan at $59.95 in order to have two lines. Am I
reading that right?

I called customer service and they confirmed it. I went ahead and
ordered the Nation 550 Family Talk plan. I gives me 550 instead of
450 minutes, and unlimited night and weekends instead of 5,000 per
month. Like I'm going to use 5,000 minutes in a month. :-) Got a
Motorola V557 free too. Happy with that as I have a V551 and we can
use the same program and cable to keep them in synch.
