The recently announced Treo 680 is not a sufficient step up from the 650
other than a little more internal RAM and no antenna. What I need is a
device that does UMTS/HSDPA on GSM as I need it for both U.S. and overseas
service. I would prefer a Palm based system but if Cingular can't (or
won't) provide it I guess I will have to go to a WM5 device (i.e., Treo 750
Vodaphone) and get someone to hack it to unlock it.
Any ideas if Cingular will get off it's collective fundament and get a phone
like this?

Search the Web for information on the Cingular 8525. It is supposed to the
released soon, and is the Cingular-modified version of the HTC TyTN. It may
fit your needs.

Re: Will There Be a Treo 750P
If you're willing to part with £300, Vodaphone will sell you an unlocked Treo
750 - you'll not need a hacker to unlock it. Got one last July at their Chelsea
store on Old Church Street in London. Slipped in my Cingular SIM card haven't
had a problem hitherto - my Enterprise email works fine, no roaming problems in
Africa, Europe & far east Asia; even when roaming in Japan (couldn't receive
email in Japan with my old BBerry 8700c - not 3G UMTS capable etc.).
