OK, heres the thing. I was told on the Cingular network I need to have
the codes on my account for data calls before I can use my phone as a
modem. We do have the "Pay per use" option on WIE in my area, however
I don't plan on using WIE.
All I want to do is connect my cell phone to my PC. Use the Cell as
the modem for my PC to dial my dial-up ISP.
Can anyone tell me if this situation will be charging me as a "Pay per
Use" on WIE even though I am not using WIE, or if it will just be
eating up my airtime minutes?
Thanks,
Frederick

according to todd allcock you can't do that, you have to pay to access
such features... in theory it should work no problem, but remember
this is a corporation and all corporations find every which way to
make money so to require a seperate "package" is neither surprising
nor unexpected. i'm actually very surprised you're not charged for
each digit pressed on your phone.
