Seemingly after going through an airport X-Ray machine the phone now only
displays names til part way down the directory list; the last section not
showing any names, but still appearing to be there as entries with blank
names, however, they still work but can't be deleted.

Any idea why this should have happened and how to sort it?

I've heard of this before on the T68, although I can't remember the cause.
This is from memory, since I can't find the original reference to the
problem now, but I'm pretty certain that there isn't really an easy way to
fix it if you don't have a phone backup or anything like that. Maybe you
could try the SIM in another phone and see if all your phonebook entries are
there - in which case you know it's the phone's memory that's causing the
problem and a reset might cure it.
I do think that it is a known problem, so some searching might find more
    information.

    Chris.

    Re: T68i lost names

I just had this problem with my Ericsson T39m! About 25% of my phonebook
entries were moved to the end fo the list, and were appearing as blank
entries. These numbers still showed up on my call display when these people
called me, but I couldn't dial them from my phonebook.

This problem seemed to have fixed itself after a couple days. Thank god
because I was just about to do a Master Reset which I didn't really want to
    do.

What we did in the end was copy from phone memory to SIM - all the names
were there - and then copy back.

The problem with that is that where you have multiple numbers against names,
they get separated out (John, John1 etc), Which is a PIA but hardley the end
    of the world.

    Thanks for suggestions
