Re: Motokit
There really isn't much of any kind of manual. Do you have the screen
showing in English? To get that, the third toolbar item opens to
language and you'll see English to click on.

Re: Motokit
Yep, screen is in english. I wanted to figure out why even after installing
all the drivers and stuff, it still tells me my phone is not connected.

Re: Motokit
OK, can you run RSD Lite or P2KCommander? I found that since I installed
P2KCommander things work a lot more smoothly with all my P2k programs.
Suggest that you delete the Motorola drivers, install P2kCommander (from
the usual sites), Run it, THEN plug in the phone. The correct drivers
should load and then you should be good to go. Another good program to
use for gains table changes is P2kTools.

Re: Motokit
well here is a probable cause, Motokit does not support my V400. It skips
from V360 to V500. I have the Commander and will try it.

Re: Motokit
There's really no difference in the various v series so I still think
it's a driver issue. If P2kCommander works try Motokit again.

Re: Motokit
I've put these drivers in several times, even cut and pasted them in but
nothing about the phone shows under ports. Each time I connect the phone to
the cable I get something popping up saying unknown device.

Re: Motokit
That's odd, it should say Motorola when it pops up. Can you try on
another PC?

Re: Motokit
No, soory, I don't have another computer that works. Tell me this does
Motokit look at a particular port? I can't find anything on it about setting
a port. I have 4 USB ports on the back of the PC. MPT wants port 4.

Re: Motokit
No, it doesn't matter which USB ports you use although it's best to plug
the phone into one on the back of the computer directly - not through a
hub. But try a different port anyway as it sometimes does make a
difference. It sshould work fin in the same one you use for MPT. Have
you got P2KCommander working yet? That has it's own stack of drivers and
doesn't rely on others like Motokit does. Once you install it and run it
thenlugging in the phone should install the drivers and get you going.
TIP: Since you've been plugging it in and out, remove the battery for 10
seconds and restart the phone before you plug it back in.
I think at this point we should concentrate on getting P2kCommander,
RST or PST working first. THEN we can go to P2kTools or Motokit to edit
the gains table.

Re: Motokit
Commander never seems to let me select phone at the top. All my USB ports
are listed under a USB root hub. 2 in front and 4 on back. 2 in front are
assigned to other things, scanner and digi camera. MPT works on 4th USB port
in back but I have to re-install the phone every time. Also the computer
kinds finding new unknown device or USB device not recognized. Did the
battery thing and connected phone, same results. This is too wierd and
frustrating. I just want to crank up the vloume to the earpiece. hahahaha!
My email is [email protected] if you'd rather go direct.

Re: Motokit
I installed commander but it does not find the phone. Also with commander
installed my MPT won't work.

Re: Motokit
Most times I get a pop up saying unknown device. The program always says
phone not connected. I've tried every port. Frustrtating as hell this is.

Re: Motokit
You seem to have a stubborn PC! About the only thing left to try is
this. Please let me know how it works for you:
