    You can look for a what's commonly called a "drive time kit" or magnetic
    external antenna at a local retailer. Works great in the car, but can also
    be used in the home or office.

    I used one of these magnetic external antennas at home ... My home seems to be a
    dead area ... no cell phones have decent reception from at least three different
    carriers. Anyways, with the external antenna I now get three to four bar
    consistantly. I have it mounted on the gutter of the roof and route the wire
    inside through a window. I just needed to find a spot with good reception.
