    Hello,
perhaps some expert knows the answer to this question:

I have a quirk with a Nokia 3510i. When i get a call from some people
in my phonebook, only the caller number shows on screen, not the
phonebook name. I have the names in both telephone and SIM memory. Why
    is that?

    Thanks,
    KrazyKat

I have it set up to use both, so I guess that's not it.

    Where is this option?

However, certain numbers DO show the name, others don't. This I don't
    understand...

Are the shown numbers recorded into the phone (or SIM) using international
format (something like +44 ..... for UK) or "common" format (without +44) ?
It would be a damn weird bug, as it's a commonly well managed feature...

Check that you have the memory set to use "Phone Memory". If you have the
same number in your phone memory and sim memory the name will not be
displayed. This also applies if you have the same number under more than one
    name.

Usually by having the same problems myself. Having 20 years
programming/networking/computing/electronics (and teaching of them all
thereof) experience also helps as you understand how programs and
electronics work. In this case the phone deals with search collisions by not
displaying anything (not very useful). It would be better for the phone to
display the first name in phone memory that it finds matching that number,
whether or not it can be found elsewhere.
