I would like to write a program to download the phonebook from a 3589i.
From what I understand, I need to use the AT command set. Is this correct?
Where can I find documentation for the AT command set for the 3589I? It
seems that there are a lot of different command sets. I hope most of the
common commands are the same.
I found this command set but it is for GSM.

and most of the commands do not seems to work. Isn't the 3589 a CDMA phone?

Yes, the 3589i is a CDMA phone, but the fact that it's CDMA vs. GSM
shouldn't have anything to do with it.
Are you in a terminal emulator and able to communicate with the phone
as you would with a modem? It's possible that the newer phones, which
use USB instead of a serial port to interface to the computer, no
longer use the same AT interface. Nokia's web page claims that their
software for the 3589i is Windows-only, so perhaps as a cost reduction
they've made the phone a sort of WinModem?

Re: Code to access addressbook on the 3589i
Yes I can communicate to it via the USB using HyperTerminal and AT commands.
Very few work though.
