I have the iPhone 3G version 3.1.2
Is is worth updating to the 4.1?
I've heard it slows the 3G iPhone's down quite a bit.
Which version would be better to tether with?

Re: Is version 4.1 worth switching from 3.1.2
In my opinion: No!
My iPhone 3G slowed down dramatically. Just looking for a way to downgrade back to previous version.
There's nothing in the 4.1, I really need or use. As I'm not an app-freak, I don't need folders... I guess if you have tons of applications, you really might need this - I don't.
Digital zoom for the camera is really stupid. (as digital zooms always are) You just get crappier quality pictures.
The slow-down really pisses me off! My iPhone does not feel as intuitive as it used to...
It's a great way to sell iPhone 4...

As uxfab said the benefits are heavily outweighed by the drawbacks on the 3G. Get yourself a 3GS or even better an iPhone 4 if you want to go to iOS 4.
