I'm looking to buy a new cell phone plan, and it appears that Newegg has the best deal. I can get a $350 cell phone for free and get the regular plan. When I went to the Cigular/At&T store they told me that they can do nothing special and I'd have to buy my own phone without a plan, etc.
However, my friend tells me if I buy it from Newegg I'd be screwed over, they have no support and very expensive termination fees, as well as not being able to upgrade your account. Is this true?
And also, if I get such a plan will I still be able to go to the Cingular store to check up on my account or do I need to go through Newegg?
Also, I have the choice of getting a free Blackberry Pearl or a Blackjack.. which do you guys think is better?

Re: Buying a plan off Newegg?
If I am not mistaken, your friend is wrong.
Newegg is just acting as a reseller, for example. Instead of buying the phone and plan from an at&t store, you can go into bestbuy or any radio shack and purchase the phone and plan from them. Different stores will have different deals. I just signed up with at&t and I went into the store near my house, they had no specials, no free phones nothing, so i went next door to bestbuy and got a sync for free when I singed up with there 450 min plan..
If you ever need technical support, all you would have to do is dail 611 from your cell phone, or call at&t 1800 number. you dont need to call newegg, they cant help you..
So basically to repeat my self, newegg is just acting as a reseller, the termanation fee's and all that jazz comes from at&t itself not newegg.
