I bought a generic data cable on ebay, and the drivers it came with wouldnt work on XP. It is a data cable for 8900 but it fits my 8610. does anyone know were i could get drivers that would work on XP for the 8610. When i plug the cable into the phone and into the usb port my computer does not recognize it. Can anyone help me

    be careful

Hey, i just want to let you know, that you need to be careful with what you do to the phone using a USB Data Cable. If you use a cable with a name on it, I would find out what programs go to that and the drivers for the 8610(Specifically). I had a AudioVox 8610 until I bought the FutureDial USB Data Cable, and somewhere down the 20 min. road of trying to put a ringtone on, I made my phone a paper weight....Just a warning. Be carefull. To all reading this.

thank you or asking that question! I am having the exact same problem. I cannot get the computer to recognize the device. The phone will charge from the usb.. but that's about it. Please help asap. Is there anything we can download to get the computer to recognize the phone as a usb device? What do we do? Thanks. Virgin Mobile Audiovox 8610 uses Qualcomm CDMA technology.
