I'm moving to Jacksonville, FL in the near future and will be getting a new wireless plan. Cingular looks like a good fit for me but I'm not sure which phone to pick.

I want a flip-top, color screen phone. One that I can download mp3's or wav files from my pc to the phone for ring tones. It would be a bonus if I could download my own graphics to the phone and it was a bluetooth phone.

I'd like to pay $100 or less after rebate. I might be able to squeeze a little more out of the budget, if necessary.

Just took a look at it. On wirefly.com, a one year contract could get it for $50 after rebate. Looks like a nice phone. How difficult is it to download the mp3's (or is it wav's) to the phone?

It's a GSM phone, does that mean the plan has to be GSM or do all Cingular plans have GSM?

Did a little more looking and while they don't make it perfectly clear, it appears to me that if the plan is a "Nation" plan it's GSM which is what I'm considering.

the phone is very user friendly however to transfer mp3 ringtone to it you need to get the Motorola phone tools software (available on Motorola web site). The software allows you to transfer ringtones, pictures and contact infor from pc to phone and vise versa. it also has an excellent speaker phone. The phone is GSM as are all new cingular phones. they are going to eventually phase out there old TDMA service.

and you are correct. Nation plans are GSM

I have service in Miami and besides slow customer service i dont have any complaints about Cingular.

I use the phone in conjunction with my pocket pc to access the internet. This phone has EDGE capabilities which is high speed internet. that and bluetooth is what sold me on it.

for 50 bucks you cant go wrong with this phone

Does the phone have any way to transfer MS Outlook address book into it?

BTW, when I did a google on the phone, there was a sponsored link to wirefly to get the phone free with a one year contract. Unfortunately, I won't be in jacksonville until late Dec at the earliest.
