It depends on the State you live in ;
"EARLY TERMINATION FEE
In FL, GA, SC, NC, KT, TN, MS, LA, AL, NY, and parts of IN and NJ an Early Termination Fee in the amount of $240 prorated over the term of your commitment may be assessed against you in the event that you terminate this contract before the expiration of its term. In all other areas, an Early Termination Fee of $150 may be assessed against you in the event that you terminate this contract before the expiration of its term."

My phone is based out of Kentucky, so the termination fee would be $150... BUT, is that a flat-rate? ...or is that per phone?

Read the previous post. If you live in Kentucky you do not pay a flat rate. Yours is $240 divided by the number of months left of your contract. That is what you would pay to get out.

Keep in mind that is per phone.

The abbreviation for Kentucky is KY, and I don't see it on that list. I was not sure that KT was Kentucky.

You are correct. I just looked at an official contract to see if the poster made a typo, and the contracts also say KT. I'm aware the abbreviation of Kentucky is KY, I had thought that the poster made a mistake. Now it looks like Cingular has a mistake on their contracts or is referring to somewhere I'm not aware of.

At this point the best thing to do would be to call customer service and ask them what the fee would be. If you did decide to go through with the cancellation they would be the ones to do it anyway.

It's prorated, $10.00 a month for ever how long left in your contract
