People who roam off other towers more than 50% of their time are about to get a letter from Cingular telling them to take a hike. According to the letter, it just costs Cingular too much money and it's not worth it to them to keep Nationwide customers who roam more than 50% of their time. Cingular is graciously waiving the early termination fee since they're the ones cancelling your service, but they're giving you 35 days to find another carrier for your cell phone service.
Cingular...we quit raising the bar, now we're just raising our middle finger at you.

i'm pretty anxious to see it! considering i could be 'roaming' on a t-mobile tower >50% of the time, i would lose out on all of my cingular benefits.

I'm also told that high-profile customers (famous people like Oprah Winfrey) aren't going to get booted even though they fit the criteria. If that's the case, I'd think there will be room for legal action for discrimination.

i'm not questioning you personally, but there are quite a few claims made which turn out to be rumors. therefore, i personally ask for substantial proof for a claim like that before everyone gets hysterical.
i also passed this on to a cingular rep to check into it. we'll soon find out either way. but out of curiosity, where did the letter come from? no cpu file copy? weird that an important piece of paper like that could be disposed of that easily.
hopefully i'll never have to see your 'i told you so' because it could cause me some grief if i have to look for a new carrier...lol.
anyways, if you find updated info, pass it on.

not sure if it is legal or not, but if they do, it would break their end of the contract. hence, no ETF!
but like i said before, don't jump to conclusions until there's solid proof behind the claim.

that's messed up! the cingular reps i've talked to haven't heard anything as of yet. i'll check in again with them to see what they've dug up, if anything?
