I am with Cingular and my contract runs out in the fall. But, my phone is starting to become a piece of crap........the top flip part is getting flimsy, the screen freezes at least 3x a day and I have to take the battery off everytime. Then it smells like it's burning. :S I was planning on getting a Razr, so could I purchase one and transfer my plan/number to it??

    See More: Help please :)

If you go to a cingular store I think they will make you a deal on one and set it up for you, they did for me. If you do not get it from cingular and it is unlocked I think you can take the sim card out of old phone and put in the new one and it may work.

Go to a Cingular store and tell them the problem you're having with your handset, if your contract ends this fall they might be able to give you an early upgrade with a contract renewal.

Once you get your new handset all it will take is inserting your sim card on your new phone and you're all set, even your phone numbers will transfer as long as you have them saved to your sim card.

PS: there's no need for unlocking if your using your sim card with a handset from the same carrier.
