I previously had a nokia 7110 and used the sim card to hold my
phonebook, and didn't store any numbers on my phone.

I want to do this with my T610 but it seems that I have to copy the
phonebook to the phone. I'd rather not do this. Is there anyway I
can store and use my phonebook via my sim card and not the T610?
