I have a Moto v710 with Verizon. I have mp3s stored on a 128 MB transflash
card and am using the Moto Stereo headphones. The MP3s play fine when the
phone is open but shuts off when the phone is closed. Is there any way to
keep the phone playing mp3s when closed. It's kind of awkward to have the
phone open on a belt clip.
Thanks,
Pete Rissler

Mine is the 100GB hard drive model...$399.
It is NOT hobbled in any way with silly copyright protection crap. Plug it
into your USB2 port and use any copy command to copy your MP3, WAV, OGG or
WMA music files onto its massive hard drive. It stores 3500 hours of music
at 128Kbps. Your computer treats it like a portable hard drive, not some
licensed hack of the RIAA, so you can use it to store any kind of file,
upload/download any file, including music files, to another computer,
laptop, anything with USB 1, 1.1 or 2 ports.
Why screw around with crappy 512KB $100 memory cards when you can take
every piece of music you'll ever own with you and quickly retrieve it, play
it, shuffle play a directory, subdirectory or the whole damned 100GB drive.
It also records from its mic, or its line input and has a nice digital FM
radio, which it can also record from. Want to record the meeting that goes
on for hours? It has GB of storage....hours are easy...even days on the AC
power supply.
It'll play music from its own codecs...or plugged into your fav computer it
will play through any of the computer's players because it's just another
hard drive full of music to the computer. Winamp plays directly from it
via USB just fine.
Plays 22 hours on a charge, too! Uses standard 2.5" laptop hard drives.
Supports up to 137GB drives when available. The Li-Ion battery pack is a
standard one, but you have to disassemble the unit to replace it....
Fantastic Music machine....Great external hard drive, too!....$399.
They've promised me FLAC codec support, "soon". The whole operating system
is disk-based and upgradeable, which is why it takes a minute to boot....

Screw memory/cellphone MP3 players. How silly.

The right-softkey says "HIDE" when playing MP3's. Press it and close the
flip, and the music continues.

Re: Playing mp3s on V710
You should be able to. After you hit play the play button says hide.
Hit hide then you will go back a screen you
can then hit back and you can do what ever you want. At the main screen
you get the ability to go fwd or reverse .
Any other questions e-mail me back. Tony
