Research around the world estimates annual handset disaster at about 9.5%.

SimStore has been established to provide disaster recovery services to
handsets. Initially this enables device owners to backup and manage address
book information on their phones, via SMS and a WWW interface such that in
time of disaster that information can be readily restored once the owner has
    replaced their handset.

    regioster now at www.simstore.com

F'n useless. There is much more important information on the multimedia
phones nowadays than just addressbook. Calendar, notes, important
messages, settings, programs with registration codes....and stuff.
Bluetooth- or IR-enabled phone with with p3nfsd (Linux) or NokiaSuite
(MS-Windows) is what people need for backupping.

Dunno 'bout everyone else, but I'm getting a bit tired of this 'Simstore
is that answer to all your problems' type replies. It's pretty much
    spamming the group IMHO.
