Since there's no intro forum, I thought I would say hello here.

As you can see in my sig, I work in tech support for a medium sized cell phone company. Anyway, that's it for the intro, on to the funny phone stories! You get a million of them in tech support. I thought I would post a couple, and I swear that all of these are absolutely, positively true.

I took the first two. This lady calls in asking to have her password reset for her online billing. Now, the billing software shows what their username is so you can tell it to the customer in case they've forgotten their username. This lady's username? Beaver69. I didn't say a word.

Girl calls in saying she wasn't able to receive calls. I notice she's been with us a few months. On a whim first thing I asked her was, "Do you have your phone on when you want to receive phone calls?" She goes, "You mean I have to have my phone on to receive phone calls?" No girl, the phone fairy is going to pop out of the back of your phone, fly around, and turn it on when you get a call.

This one was taken by the guy next to me. He's helping a guy program his Kyocera 414. The guy says he's standing at the sink because he was doing dishes while on hold. All of a sudden there's this *kerplunk* and my co-worker goes, "That wasn't what I think it was, was it?" and the customer goes, "Yup, it was. Nevermind."

The last one is a real doozy, taken by another co-worker. This one came out during a team meeting, and we all laughed ourselves silly for at least 5 minutes. This lady calls in asking for the number to the handset insurance company (my work isn't a licensed insurance broker and so contracts the handset insurance out to another company that is), and it's obvious that she's just drunk off her rear. The guy is looking up their number when the lady volunteers the reason why she's calling them: She was sitting on the toilet with her phone on 'vibrate' and dropped it. Think about that one for a minute...
