My current Motorola V220 just crapped out on me. I'm beyond the warrenty and Cingular can't give me the upgrade price because i still have just under a year on my contract. The phones in the store started at 139.99 and as a college student i really don't have that kind of money to drop on a phone. I just want something cheap. I was looking at Go Phones and I was wondering if i were to purchase one would I be able to swtich my sim card from a monthly plan onto a Go Phone and still keep the same plan i have now? Technically I would say that was cheating the system but I figured I would check since It would save me a bunch of money. Im guessing that the phones are only configured for Go Phone sim cards, but I could be wrong. Any help would be nice. I've already checked out ebay and the prices on there aren't too friendly either...

    Thanks in advance
    Brian

switching your current monthly plan to a go phone prepaid plan isnt possible.. youll basically be activating a brand new line on the go phone plan.. new number and all.

for go phone plans, any phone can be used with the sim card..

id say your best option is to find a nice refurbished one on ebay.. since youll be buying a phone outright.

Well that I understand, what i meant was if i was to take my sim out of the phone i have now, and put it in a go phone, would my number and account work on the go phone or are those locked so that my old sim could not be used.
I don't want the prepaid, just the phone itself
