Hey guys. I am getting ready to buy an unlocked phone, a Nokia N80. What is involved in making sure I can get on the internet, send picture messages, etc. I have read I need to get the phone "flexed" with Cingulars firmware? Is this something that can be done easily? Is it based on the phone you get or just generic for any phone? I want to be 100% sure this will work before I spedn $500 on this phone. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
Chris

Re: Flexing your phone with Cingular Firmware
You don't really need to flash the phone to Cingular's current version. You can get the settings for internet. Try this, it might help you out.

Re: Flexing your phone with Cingular Firmware
Couldn't you just call Cingular and ask them for the firmware settings? Say your phone got reset or something?

Re: Flexing your phone with Cingular Firmware
I mean that you might be able to call Cingular and simply request their gateway/etc settings for the internet.
I've had phones reset before and have had to do the same - and they were more than forthcoming with the info.
Unless nowadays they actually require the firmware itself - and not just the preconfigured settings that come with it.

just go here and it is self explanitory https://www.cingular.com/support/con...device-support then after that toward the middle of the page you will find something that talks about internet or gprs settings... click that... it will tell you all you need to know
