    It took me forever to find this setting so I'll just post the instructions here for anyone else that can't figure it out.

    You'll notice there is no 'vibrate' setting under Settings > Sounds & display > notification ringtones

    Go to Messaging > Menu button > Settings > Scroll down to notification settings > check Vibrate
