I know this is an old post, but I thought I would bring it back up.
register with motomodders.com ! they take thing seriously over there,no dead link or misleading info!
download P2KMan and p2k driver.
If you have windows XP, setting this up can be alittle tricky.
But heres what I did.
The P2K driver you download should have an install wizard in its folder, not just a standalone .sys file!
Go to your P2K folder after you excact everything (usually a zip file)
Click the driver install wizard icon. Let it install as normal.
close oput of all programs, plug your phone in to your cable, the the cable into the USB port, any port SHOULD work!
Down by the clock on the taskbar will pop up "New Hardware detected" or similar statement. If it allows you to enter a wizard to set up your new hardware, do so. It should first ask you if windows can connect to the internet to look up microsoft drivers for your new hardware. tell it no and to go to hell.
Click Install From List (Manual/Advanced)
Click Search, search removabler disks, search folder. click BROWSE and do find your P2K folder you unzipped. Also, allow auto-search.
The rest will either go in your favor or not.I tried to remember my excact steps, but I mnay have forgot something.
After the wizard is done, disconnect your phone at the USB port.I believe windows will now make a noise when unplugged.
Now, reconnect your phone and wait for the noise, then read the message in the bottom right corner. It should read your fone as a v180 by now. Now enter P2KMan, and wait,it will attempt to connect to your phone, and as it does, mor messages appear in the bottom right corner. It will prompt you to follow more install hardware wizards.Follow the same steps as the first part of these instructrions for the rest of the wizards that come up.Eventually it will tell you new hardware is installed and ready for use.Exit P2KMan, unplug phone, hear noise, plug phone back in, hear noise wait for any messages in the corner, then re-enter P2KMan and watch the connect status, windows shoulds make serval noises while P2KMan is reading your phone.Eventually it should show Connected at the bottom of P2KMan. Hit update list, wait for the load bar to fill 100% and your phone is now ready for download, upload and modification!
XP will be a pain in the ass one more time in your life, when you try to use other P2K programs that use the same p2k driver. It will take a while but enventually everything will work smoothly and you can seemlessly switch between programs depending on what your doing to your phone.
