i-mate ringtones

There is no i-mate forum here so I may as well ask here.

Has anyone successfully assigned different ring tones to different people with an i-mate? Can't work out how to do it and the manual is useless.

EDIT: Oh probably should say that is an i-mate jam, about 8 months old.
