I'm a new subscriber and I have a question that Cingular doesn't seem
to be able to answer for sure. The official Cingular Web site says
they charge for accessing your voicemail from your wireless phone, but
they don't if you use your landline phone. Now my question is: I used
to be able to bypass this wireless charge by calling myself (my own
cell number - not the server number like programmed on keypad number
1) on my cell, and AT&T WS (my former provider) would treat it as a
wireless-to-wireless call, therefore it was free. Does Cingular do
this or not? Does anybody know?
Thanks
Barb

Re: VoiceMail access question
If you call yourself, you still get charged minutes for accessing voice
mail. As far as I know the only way to avoid this charge is by using a
landline.

Re: VoiceMail access question
Richie is correct. I turn my cell offand when the voice mail answers I
press the * and it goes into the menywhere ou can retreive your messages.
If both phones are in the "home" area so o long distance is involved there
is no cost.
