How-to: Set Up Kid’s Corner on Nokia Lumia 822

Kid’s Corner is an app of the Windows 8 that brings a unique and interesting parental control feature. This app launch a separate Start screen, that parents can customize with individual apps, music, games as well as videos . Additionally, the app is easily deactivated, with the simple press of the Power button.

Setting Up Kid's Corner

1. Go to the Start screen and swipe your finger to right to go to Apps.
2. Tap Settings -> tap kid’s corner -> if you want to add an app, such as the camera app to the Kid’s Corner, tap Apps -> tap the apps that you want to add. You can choose from Alarms, Calculator, Games, Camera, etc.
3. After you’ve selected the desired apps, tap OK.
4. To also add videos, tap Videos -> tap the video that you want to add and then tap OK.
5. To add games -> tap Games -> tap the games that you want to add and when ready, tap OK.
6. If it’s your first time setting up the Kid’s Corner, tap next.
7. Tap set password, and enter a password -> tap confirm password and enter the same password your entered before.
8. Tap done -> tap finish.

Accessing Kid’s Corner

1. From the Lock screen, swipe your finger right to go to the Kid’s Corner Lock screen.
2. Tap and drag the Lock screen up.
3. If you want to exit the Kid’s Lock screen, tap the Power key to put your phone to sleep and then tap the Power key again and you’ll access the regular Lock screen.

Turning OFF Kid’s Corner

1. Go to the Start screen and swipe your finger right to go to Apps.
2. Tap Settings -> select kid’s corner -> turn the kid’s corner ON or OFF, as desired.
