I've been for Rogers a while now and I wanted to go on my own account, currently I am on a family plan with my mom as the account holder. Problem is by making any changes to your account Rogers automatically locks you in for another 3 yrs which is bull crap.

I wanted a new phone with rogers and had no problem signing another 3 yrs but my mom wants to switch and she refuses to go another 3 yrs with them. Even though I am changing my account, they will still lock both of us for 3 yrs b/c she is the account holder.

What I want to know is if I buy an unlocked phone and take the SIM card out of my W300i (current cell), and put it in a N95 will it work? I really don't want to have to be another year & a half with this phone but I don't want to screw my mom over either.

Thanx in advance to anyone who can help me out.

Yes it will work. Keep in mind that if the N95 is not a Roger's branded phone, you may have to enter the settings for internet and mms yourself. These settings are available on the Nokia site and can be OTA sent to your phone.

    Hope this helps.

Thanx alot man. Rogers is making people buy this vision package now so i'm guessing thats the only feature I'll lose on the phone, its no biggy but is this one ofthe only features I'll lose?

Also living in Canada do I have to make sure the phone is using a certain band?

I don't know much about the vision package but with the right settings everything should work including that package.

Canada and US both use 850 and 1900 GSM bands, so as long as any phone you buy has both of these bands and is unlocked (or locked to Rogers) you should not have any problems.

The N95 is great device btw.
