I used to be a customer of Bell Mobility and I know they had a thing where you could suspend or park your account for a period of time if you weren't going to be using it. I seem to recall there may or may not have been a charge.

Anyway, I just got off the *611 with Rogers and was inquiring about parking/suspending my account for a year since I'm leaving the country.

The CSR said that Rogers doesn't do any such thing but then said he could transfer me to another department that might be able to help. The 2nd CSR said that the best they could do is offer me an "emergency" plan which would be about $8/month plus the "system access fee" (god, that annoys me). So this would bring it to about $15/month or $189/year (with taxes). I pressed on (for about 10 minutes) and the CSR said she could offer me a $5/month rebate...which is better, but still...

Any advice on how to get it as close to $0/month as possible? I made the point of saying I don't want to cancel my contract (which would be a $400 fee at this point) but in retrospect maybe that was a mistake. Should I try the CxR route?

Still got a few years left on the plan. It's currently one of the lowest ones - $25/mth.

what phone do you have? how much did you pay for it?

you can go on cellplandepot or craigslist etc.. and say giving away rogers plan PLUS a free phone (whatever phone it is) PLUS 75$ to anyone who takes it over. (odds are ill see this ad and reply to it lmfao). then your paying a lot less to get out of your contract, and when your ready to come back, sign another 3yr and get a phone @ a really cheap price
