  6. Click “Apply” to start the sync
  7. Once the sync is complete, switch to the Galaxy S7, register the same Google account, and allow it to sync contacts with your device

Transfer iPhone Contacts from an iCloud Backup:

NOTE: If your iPhone contacts have already been backed up on your iCloud account, you can access the account on a computer connected to the Internet, and export the iPhone contacts in vCard format. To do this:

  1. Open the Internet browser on the computer
  2. Launch https://www.icloud.com/
  3. Sign in with your iCloud account and click “Contacts”
  4. Select the contacts you want to share and click “Settings”
  5. Click “Export vCard” and wait for the file to be downloaded on the computer
  6. Once done, perform one of the following steps:
    • Import the vCard to “Google Contacts”
    • Connect the Galaxy S7 to your computer via USB, copy the vCard to the phone storage, and use the “Contacts” application to import its contents to your phonebook

Using “My Contacts Backup”:

NOTE: Although the methods above require access to a computer with an Internet connection, alternatively you can share your contacts using third party applications. My Contacts Backup is an iOS app that can be used to back up and transfer contacts from your iPhone via email.

  5. Send the email and attachment to your own Gmail address
  6. Switch to the Galaxy S7, open the email, and download the attached vCard
  7. Import the vCard to your phonebook using “Contacts”

Via “Send Anywhere”:

NOTE: Send Anywhere is another third party application you can use for contact transfer. The app uses a peer-to-peer connection to transfer contacts and other types of files without the need of a computer.

  1. Open the App Store and install “Send Anywhere” on the iPhone
  2. Visit the Google Play Store and install the same app on the Galaxy S7
  3. Open the application on both smartphones
  4. Tap “Send” on the iPhone
  5. Tap “Contacts” and select the ones you want to share
  6. Tap “Send”
  7. Lastly, select a transfer method. For instance you can tap “Receive” on the Galaxy S7 and enter the code from the iPhone, or tap “Generate QR Code” on the iPhone and scan the code with the S7’s camera to start the transfer
