what do u guys think about rogers buying fido, for 1.4 billion. even though fido has accepted the offer the goverment still has to approve of rogers having a monopoly in the GSM market.

Same great city coverage, with additional coverage everywhere else, man, as long as Rogers continues with Fido's innovative ways and cheap prices, I love it!

It is not considered a monopoly because of the fact that GSM, TDMA, CDMA and AMPS all offer the same thing: Cellular phone coverage. If it was you could say that Rogers already has a monopoly on the TDMA market, because they are the only ones that support it. Now if Rogers now buys out Telus and Bell then it would be a monopoly.

But anyways for FIDOees it is great as you will get WAAAAAY better reception and coverage. Plus you will get EDGE!

For Rogersers it is good because they will benefit from the far superior roaming agreements and it MAY clear up some minor in city weak areas.

ye rogers and fido seem like the best combo, in the states i noe at&t merged with cingular, that is a gud combo too, rollover minutez!!! wen will we get that

i honestly don't mind as long as we get cheaper plans.

rogers is charging fido customers only 5 dollars to acces thier networks, that doesn't bridge the gap at all.

i think its pretty cool, since we get the best of both worlds now. if one has better reception than the other in an area ur phone switches to the better one.

I like it aslong as ROGERS don't change FIDO's plan.

as i said no 5 bucks per month if u hav a contract u need an edge phone to use rogers edge. and it sucks ass fido was so much better before. hell w/ the expanded network. old fido was so much better. i mean look at everything going up cd vm per second bililng is going soon. also. city fidos gone!
