    hey what's up

i had some questions about Cingular's 'roll-over' feature

how exactly does that work? old/unused minutes from the previous months roll over onto the next month additional to your minutes???

is there a limit onto how many roll over minutes you roll over? say i don't use any minutes for 3 months, do all of those minutes roll over the 4th month? lol, that would be hilarious

also!!! the site wasn't being really clear and i didn't feel like being put on hold through customer service, but how many texts and such do you get free a month? and how much are additional texts/IM features and such? and can you text to the countries? i really hated how sprint didn't allow that

(in advance) well if anyone has the time to help me out before i decide on what plan to get, it would be greatly appreciated

    Hey roX1co,

Rollover works by taking ALL of your unused minutes from each month, and letting them accrue into your "Rollover" stash of min's. Only thing is, after twelve months, that last month's minutes expire. Let me explain: Say you subscribe Jan 1, 2006. You use 500 of your 1000 Anytime minutes. Then at the end of your billing cycle, 500 minutes of your unused anytime minutes are added to your Rollover stash. Now, if you happened to have not used those minutes by January of the next year, 2007, those 500 Rollover minutes will cancel.

To answer your question, "is there a limit onto how many roll over minutes you roll over? say i don't use any minutes for 3 months, do all of those minutes roll over the 4th month?" I would say yes. All of them would rollover. And then the limit is how many minutes you can accrue unused in 12 months, b/c afterwards, they'll expire.

And as for how many text's/IM's you get free, I believe it's none, unless they're offering some sort of special promo deal. Check out https://www.cingular.com/media/text_messaging_purchase for pricing (It's kinda steep, IMHO).

Good luck to yah. Some people don't mind Cingular, and seems like some hate it. I fall into the "It's alright" category. It's the Rollover min that I love.

    Best of luck to yah,

    - Mike

Yea hawk hit it pretty much right on the head, but another thing i love about cingular is that they offer "Media" packages that come with tons of test messages as well as wireless internet. I think they are like 10 bucks now but back when i got it they were around $7...yea i also love the rollover feature

Mr Hawk explained the rollover perfectly, better than I could have and I work for Cingular.

As far as text messaging plans, Cingular offers a variety of them. Most of them if not all text plans, are giving the first month unlimited texts. An IM is considered a text as well, and the overage charge for texting is .10. You are able to send SMS messages out of the USA, and the charge is .25 I believe, check out cingular.com for exact pricing and feature options.
