I'm looking at buying a phone and am looking at this combo:

    RAZR V3
Cingular Nation 450 w/Rollover and Media Basic

I want to make sure that that combo will satisfy what I'm looking for since this will be my first phone purchase. Here's my concerns in order of priority:

    Size
I need something small. I hate having stuff in my pockets (that's what made me quit smoking)

    Sync
I have an iPAQ PDA (with Bluetooth), and wireless in my house, and at work. I need a solution that will allow me to connect the phone to the PDA or PC via either Bluetooth or Wi-Fi so I can synchronize the contacts.

    Pictures
I want to be able to take pictures with the phone. The images from the V3 are only 640 x 480 and that's not a lot. I'd prefer something with better resolution.

    Email / Internet
I want to be able to email the pictures generated from the camera to flickr.com. Instant messaging (MSN) would also be nice.

    Location
I imagine almost all carriers are pretty good by now, but I'm in Rhode Island, does Cingular provide good coverage in this area?

So....based on those criteria. Does the RAZR / Cingular w/media fit the bill? Any other suggestions?

    Thanks,
    FD

no cingular is expensive, really expensive with the media package, its an extra 20 bux for 5 megs, and the razr pictures are really crappy, id go with verizon if you want cheap media messaging services, and they also have better camera phones for cheaper, you can get a 1.3 megapixel lg for like 150.

    Thanks

Thanks for the info. I'll be getting the plan at the same time as the phone, so I can probably get the phone for free at a lot of places.

Can anyone recommend a verizon based phone that's small but fits the criteria above? Or a site that I can check off what I need an it'll show me the phones that match?

    Thanks,
    FD

Problem is.... you will have to do some "seems edits" to any Verizon phone to be able to use the bluetooth... the Motorola v710, e815, and LG8100 are all bluetooth capable, but Verizon limits what you can do unless you personally alter the phone software... (www.v710.org will give you some details for motorolas)

Verizon has $5,10,and 15 plans for sending text/pics... but the $15 gets you 1000 text messages - a friend and I burned up 100ish of his in one instant message conversation (me on the 'puter) - I think everyone is "expensive" in their own way - but Verizon's coverage is quie relaible

The Razr is thin/flat, but not small by any means - I'm a girl, I know, but I like the feel of the 710/815 better that the big pancake Razr
