I am new and I'm sorry if this has been posted ad nauseum - I searched but really couldn't find what I was looking for.

I am very much a novice with phones but I need to know if I can do this. I have 2 phones, a motorolla and an LG. If both are unlocked, can I go get on a prepaid plan with a carrier with either one of these existing phones? If so, how would I do this?
Probably a silly question, sorry.
