Is the Wireless internet (3.99 plus minutes used) really worth it? I
would very rarely use the internet. Every so often I might go on to
check the weather (can also do it on my PC, or my Dish Network), or
maybe check a specific movie. Bigest reason for using it, would be for
wireless banking when my PC is not working.
Is it really worth the money? I have been trying to find the settings
for a good "Free" wireless internet, but no one can give me one that
will work with Cingular and the Nokia 6340i. Any thoughts on the
subject?

Re: Wireless Internet
You don't need to pay a monthly charge, but you have to call and ask for
this plan. I pay $.03 per KB and no other charges. I used it once (from the
train during the power blackout to keep up with the news). I think it cost
around 80 cents - may have been less.

Think you're confusing Wireless Internet vs. Wireless Internet
Express. Wireless Internet (TDMA) only works on a monthly fee and uses
your minutes. Wireless Internet Express (GSM/GPRS) uses the KB plan.
At least I think this is how it works...

Re: Wireless Internet
In my area, the data connect capability is disabled until you are willing to
pay the $3.99 monthly charge. So, to use the 6340i as a modem, it's 3.99
extra.

Re: Wireless Internet
Thanks chuck. That would explain why my PC's ISP will not access via my cell
phone modem too. I guess there is no way around the 3.99 fee.
