Sanyos also have problems. My office mate has Sanyo 5300 and My wife and I
recently upgraded to RL2500. My office mate started having the above problem
couple of weeks ago, where his phone would not ring and caller would go
straight into voice mail. He would get voice mail notification few hours
    later.

My wife and I have same phone, but she has had problems where her phone
would not ring and caller would get voice mail directly, yet my phone will
ring. This happened once while we were both at same location.

I don't know about the Sanyo phones, but I had this problem with my
Samsung A500 and the battery would die as well. It turned out to be
bad software, so when I passed through a marginal area the phone got
stuck in the "seeking signal" mode that could only be fixed with a
power cycle and it didn't show on the display as such when I was back
in a strong signal area. A simple software upgrade (from VI16 to
WD29) fixed the problem permanently. I mention this because the
problem was triggered by an environmental condition of low signal (in
building movement downtown Minneapolis) ... so perhaps the Sanyo
phones simply need a software upgrade to fix this bug (assuming it is
    a known bug).
