Hello,
I would like to experiment with sending data over the traffic channell
on a CDMA phone. I am guessing even with the vocoders I should be able
to do AFSK modulation (Bell 103) scheme and the vocoders would allow
that to pass thru?
Is that a valid assumption?
Thanks
Jay

You might get away with it at 300 baud. Of course I doubt that many ISPs
support 103 any more, so who are you connecting to?

Re: Could you do AFSK (BELL 103) over CDMA
I would actually have a land line on the other end that would have a
Bell 103 demodulator. I was just trying to gauge the feasibility of
trying to send data over the voice channell at low rates given that the
vocoder would try to "interpret" the modulation was'nt sure if that
would impact it.
I guess I will just have to try it out
Thanks

Let us know how that works. With the WiFi 8Kbps vocoder sample rate, the
output tones on the other end should be quite funny to see on a scope...
