Unlocked T-Mo phones on Cingular?

While I really want to get 2 of the T-Mo phones, I don't want to switch to T-Mo due to coverage problems in my area. If I were to purchase unlocked Sidekick and the MDA Vario II (when it comes out), would they work on Cingular or would they lose alot of their data capabilities?

you cannot use sidekick 2's on cingular's network. and tmobile will not unlock their sk2's anymore. for the MDA you should be able to use it, but you may be better off trying to find an unlocked and unbranded one so you don't have issues using cingular's gprs/edge network.

I know that the MDA Vario II is on sale in Europe now. If I bought an unlocked Euro MDA would it work on Cingular in the US without limited data choices?

I wish Cingular would pick up the Sidekick or something like it for my teens.
