    Hi all,

Just got an LG VX6000 the other day. My son sent me a MIDI ringtone, smaller than the 30KB limit. I saved it to sounds. When I select it with the cursor, my phone crashes (something I thought was limited to Windows machines until today). Removing the battery, replacing it and powering up the phone is the only thing that starts my phone.

I have selected the Erase All options on sounds. All but the offending MIDI file was erased. Again, selecting it and attempting an action such as renaming or erasing it crashes the phone.

Battery out, battery in, power on -- and the phone works again.

    Two questions:
    1. Is there a backdoor way to erase the offending file?
    2. Is there a reset command that will bring the phone back to factory defaults?

I would appreciate ANY and ALL assistance you folks can render.

Sorry my first post is about

The problem is definitely with the tone, so the best thing to do is to go back to the verizon store and have them completely reset the phone and reprogram it again.

Will do. I appreciate the suggestion. Thanks so much.

Is there anything to look for in the future to avoid this happening again?

    Thanks again.

Yes. I found that out too.

Unfortunately, I tried the system reset, and it did not delete the problem ringtone, nor restore the pre-provided ringtones that came with the phone.

Does anyone have any other ideas?
