My IT department requires us to use the Blackberry for security purposes so when I read the reviews of the Droid Pro I thought this was going to be an easy sell. After all, the Droid Pro is marketed to business professionals like me who have IT departments that insist their users are married to the BBerry.

Long story short, my IT head ordered a Droid Pro and when he tried to do a REMOTE WIPE, he told me that a message popped up on the Droid that said, "would you like to remote wipe?" Obviously, the owner could simply hit "no." As a result, my attempt to cut ties with the blackberry for a droid pro were shut down immediately.

This does not make sense to me as the entire purpose of remote wipe is that it should be controlled by the IT admin, NOT the owner of the phone. Can someone please tell me that my IT guys are missing something, that they perhaps did something wrong, and that Remote Wipe IS something that can really be done with the Droid Pro. I gotta get rid of this dinosaur-esque blackberry and move my company into 2011!!
