I'm looking to exchange my old and worn down model cell phone (Sony Ericsson ; T226) for a RAZR V3. My Sony Ericsson T226 is old. It has troubles turning on and off and 50% of the time, you can't hear anyone talking in it unless you got full bars.

I'm thinking of getting RAZR V3 for Christmas.

I don't use AIM on cell phones and don't plan on texting much with a new cell phone. I'm just wondering if RAZR V3 is really the cell phone for a teen ager like myself.

    Suggestions?

If you like looks, the razr is worth it. If you're looking for performance, I'd say stick to Sony Ericsson and go with a s710a. I had the razr before, so i'm saying this from experience. I really didn't like the razr because for 2 reasons, really.

    1. it only had 5mb of internal memory
    2. there is no external memory card slot

And i'm also still a teen, so I went with the s710a because

    1. 32mb built in, and a 128 mb card external
    2. mp3 player, the 128mb stick held about 20-30 songs
    3. 1.3 megapixel camera, I take pics a lot, and compared to the razr's vga camera, it's pretty good quality

but the s710a isn't the perfect phones, the speaker is located right where your cheek is, so you'd have to stick your arm out a little so your cheeks don't cover the speakers and make sounds that irritate the person you're talking to. The phones is loud, too, so you wouldn't have a problem hearing. The speakerphone is loud, too. I also got the s710a because everyone's getting a razr nowadays, I want a phone that's different from everyone else. Hope this helps.

What's the cost of a Sony Ericsson s710a?

RAZR's looks are definetly better too. But they're sort of in different leagues. RAZR V3 is a flip phone.
The s710a on the other hand, is on of like the T-Mobile Sidekick.

eBay's price range is around 250-300

Some stores nearby have it for 400 w/o plan

That's really expensive. Do you think it'll drop by Christmas time?

    And isn't RAZR around $200?

The RAZR? With a contract, probably. Without a contract, the RAZR is about 300-350. The s710a is cheaper by a bit. You should be able to get it for just about the same price with a contract. But I hear the s710a is discontinued, and is being replaced by different Sony Ericsson phones, so you're gonna have to look around, hoping they didn't get restocked with different phones.
