How to pirate/get free apps

Just bought a moto razr v3m from verizon and would like to learn how to pirate applications for it such as ringtones and much more so get it now apps and verizon's gps service. A kid who lived in my dorm last semester had a motorola (non-razr) with verizon service and was able to purchase get it now apps and the gps service, pay for them for the first month, and then cancel the subscription but before doing so download them to his computer and then upload them back to his phone. I'm assuming there is third-party software involved in doing this and if anyone could explain how to do this or help at all i'd greatly appreciate it.

I highly doubt he did this without editing some HEX values in the code of the phone itself, prob using P2kman and PST. Obviously that's not something you're going to do without some good knowledge. You could seriously mess up your phone.

A quick search on google revealed several options.

Also, "pirating applications" is against the law, and is a punishable crime. To come onto a public message board and ask for help in committing a crime is probably not the smartest thing to do. And for anyone to assist you commit a crime is also not a very smart thing to do...

To add the gps is a service based app and to my knowledge can't be hacked the MOST you could do is trick the network to thinking your still within your 1 month free trial but to even do that you'd have to know a little more than the beginner.
