I just got one of these 8100 Pearl Blackberry phones and I put a bunch of mp3's on the storage card (1GB) and when I try to go and play the file it tells me "Unable to display file". Can anyone tell me how the heck to play mp# files on this thing? I tried the onboard help menu but it said "error starting...". Any help is quite well received.

sounds like you may have defective mp3 player software...my wife has a pearl and mp3's play fine on her phone. Maybe it is the folder you have the files stored in? Maybe it's the quality of the mp3? Some phones can't handle mp3's over a certain quality.

    True..True..
I really dont know much about the pearl but I do know that on most of the phones (maybe all of them) the memory card needs to be formated to the phone. That way it created the needed folders.
Another thing too is the format of the song itself (mp3,wma,wav,mp4,more..)Most of the phones support mp3 format and window phone support WMA format.
    BB Pearl 8100 music player supports: MP3,AAC, AAC+, eAAC+
